Console and network
Console, network, and the browser that filed it.
Every report carries the recent console, the recent network calls, and a snapshot of the browser. You can also attach your own fields, such as a plan name or an account id, before the report is sent.
Attached automatically
The logs, the requests, and where they happened.
The last 200 console lines
log, info, warn, error, and debug. The lines stay on the bug in the order they happened, so a TypeError is next to the screenshot that caught it.
The last 100 requests
fetch and XMLHttpRequest. Each entry keeps the method, the URL, the status, and how long it took, plus headers and bodies when the page exposed them.
Secrets stay redacted
Authorization, cookie, and API-key headers are stored as [redacted]. Body fields whose names look like passwords, tokens, or secrets are redacted the same way.
The browser, written down
Page URL, document title, user agent, language, platform, viewport, device pixel ratio, screen size, and timezone. The team can see the width the layout broke at.
Your own fields
Metadata from your app.
After the widget loads, bugTrap.setMetadata merges fields onto the next report. They show on the bug with the environment. Put the snippet first so the widget is ready when the page finishes loading.
<script
src="https://www.bugtrap.app/widget.js"
data-api-key="YOUR_WORKSPACE_API_KEY"
data-endpoint="https://www.bugtrap.app/api/reports"
></script>
<script>
document.addEventListener("DOMContentLoaded", function () {
bugTrap.setMetadata({
plan: "pro",
accountId: "acct_1042"
});
});
</script>On the $5 plan
Diagnostics are included.
Console, network, environment, and custom metadata ride along with the screenshot and the replay. Authorization headers, cookies, and API keys are stored as [redacted]. Body fields whose names look like passwords, tokens, or secrets are redacted too.
