Chrome extension

File a bug from the page you are viewing.

Install BugTrap from the Chrome Web Store. On a page you are viewing, including a site you cannot edit, capture the visible tab, mark it, and send the report to your workspace.

From the toolbar

The visible tab, the marks, and the report.

The same workspace API key the widget uses. The extension runs when you click it, or when you use the shortcut.

  • Click the icon, or use the shortcut

Click the BugTrap toolbar icon, or press Option+Shift+B on Mac (Alt+Shift+B on Windows). That captures the visible tab. The shortcut can be changed at chrome://extensions/shortcuts.

  • Mark the screenshot

Draw, arrow, box, or type on the capture. The original screenshot is kept with the markup. Then send the title, the description, and your name.

  • The API key stays in this browser

Paste the workspace API key from Settings → Install into the extension settings. It is not synced to other devices. Nothing is sent until you submit a report.

  • What it leaves out

The extension does not record a session replay, the console, or the network. Those stay with the widget on a site you can edit. A visitor still files from that script tag, without an account.

On the $5 plan

The widget is still how a visitor files.

One script tag on a site you can edit. The person who sees the bug marks it there, and the report keeps the element, the replay, the console, and the network. The extension is the other way in, for a page you are viewing.

How the widget works

BugTrap

$5 a month for the workspace. The team is included.

Screenshot, markup, element HTML and CSS, replay, diagnostics, guest reports, Asana, and MCP come with that price.
